Gene is a Texas Hill Country native and a United States Navy Submarine Veteran. Gene and his wife, Nancy, have been married 40 years and have four children and six grandchildren. Gene spent 17 years with Kendall County finishing as Operations Manager. He served for 15 years under the direction of the Texas Veterans Commission as Kendall County's Veteran Service Officer, where he assisted local veterans in filing claims, determining eligibility, and any other veteran-related issues.
